Control-S Biography
PAST
Martin Roberts and Lee Tyler have been producing, remixing and DJ’ing together since meeting in 2005. Over this period they have remixed for Beyoncé, B.o.B, Craig David and many more, with numerous features on compilations for the likes of Warner and Ministry of Sound and regular appearances and reviews in DJ Mag.
In 2007 the duo's own label imprint In-Ctrl Recordings was launched, with the most notable release, “Never Leave Me Alone”, achieving Gold Disc status in the UK. As DJ’s, Martin and Lee have played across the UK as well as internationally and hold down a regular guest spot on Ministry of Sound Radio.
PRESENT
After starting out with a heavy bias towards remixing other people’s music, Control-S are now focusing on becoming an artist in their own right; writing, recording and performing their own material.
As the music industry turns increasingly toward software-based music, created solely on a laptop, the guys are going against the grain by honing their sound from hardware such as analogue synthesisers and reel-to-reel tape decks. What comes out of Control-S' West London studio is a mass meeting of techniques and influences from across the board.
FUTURE
With the debut of the Evolutions EP comes a new direction for Control-S as an act, with plans to take the sound live with a full band. The guys will also be boasting a DJ set, throwing together their own material and music from a wide range of genres from which they take their influence, from over 30-years of combined experience on the decks.
